Garden City Golf Club Bahria Islamabad

This is my account of a fun evening at Garden City Golf Club Bahria Town Phase 7 Islamabad and where to go to find the enjoyable stuff.

Garden City Golf and Country Club is the one on GT Road, not the one on Murree Expressway.

The day started with me driving from the DHA 3 entry gate from GT Road towards the rear of Bahria Phase 7 Islamabad with my Brother in Law.

The wide road across DHA 3 is unlike I have ever seen in any housing scheme in Pakistan. It is even wider than GT Road itself.

Just don’t ask me why they call the Place Islamabad when it lies smack in the center of Rawalpindi. That’s how Pakistan rolls.

PRO TIP

DHA3 has acquired Bahria Serene Land and its property value is perfectly placed to rise fast. Get a plot for investment purposes. Bahria has shops, apartments and plaza’s for sale but their investment value rise is not consistent.

Anyways, I had my rusty Golfing kit with me in my mini car and it was a pleasure driving through open valleys on a sunny winter day.

Turning right at the first intersection, I reached Garden City Bahria 7 Golf and Country Club.

Hitting Golf Balls on the practice range

Me and my partner walked up to the practice range and shot 50 balls a piece deep into the fairway of hole number 1.

There is nothing more pleasurable than seeing your perfectly executed Golf shot sailing over the fairway and landing near the green.

I probably got one ball to go the whole nine yards the rest were duds.

One of my balls landed on the roof of the Coffee shop close by and it wasn’t even in the periphery of the golf course.

Membership Charges at Golf Club Bahria Town and Country Club

I paid the caddy Rs 500 per player and Rs 100 tip, although non-members are supposed to pay Rs 1000 green fee.

Garden City Golf and Country Club Bahria Town Phase 7 Coffee Shop

I then moved to the Coffee shop close by and had ourselves a hot desi chai with pakora.

The Coffee shop was a bit of a disappointment as it wasn’t well established.

Bahria Golf Club House

The club house, at a walking distance has a restaurant, spa, fitness gym and a marquee too.

After a detailed discussion on Pakistan’s colonial history and legacy inherited by Pakistan Army, I moved to Bahria Town View Point.

Bahria Town View Point Islamabad

From Bahria Town view point you can see all the way to Chak Beli Chakwal, Rawat and Giga Mall. Lots of families visit this spot.

Bahria Town Zoo

On the way back I stopped at the Bahria Town Zoo to check out the sad looking lion.

In the evening people to the Cine Gold Cineplex at Bahria Golf City and County Club.

Other attractions in Bahria Town Phase 7 are the Eiffel Tower and Statue of Liberty Chowk.
