Here’s a 5-day itinerary for your tour of Hunza and Khunjrab Pass on the Karakorum Highway from Islamabad:-

ITINERARY

Day 1: (Islamabad-Chilas)

0600 – 1700 hrs (525 Km, 11 hours): Depart from Islamabad late at night and drive to Chilas, through Babusar Top

• • We make temporary stops at:-
    • Motorway Stop for Breakfast
    • Naran Kunhar River Parking
    • Lulusar Lake for viewing
    • Besal for Tea
    • Babusar Top for a brief rest

In the late afternoon, we can drive to the Chilas Rock Carvings point, across the River (if possible)

We sleep early for the first day

Day 2: (chilas-Hunza)

0700 – 1230 hrs (5.5 hrs, 275 km): After an early breakfast drive to Hunza.

• Nanga Parbat (8126m) View Point, Raikot where you see the mighty giant up close.
• Briefly stop at the three-mountain Ranges Junction point, Jaglot
• On the Way we will enjoy the view of Snow Covered Rakaposhi Mountain (7758m) that suddenly appears on our right, just before Hunza

Check-in and settling down at Hunza Hotel with a view of the surrounding peaks

1330 – 1430 hrs. (45 Km, 1 hr) Visit to Altit (900 years old)/ Baltit (700 years old ) Forts Hunza, to see Hunza’s Rulers restored castles.

1430 – 1530 hrs. (10 km, 1 hr.): Drive up to Eagle’s Nest Hotel at Dwikar (tea nearby) and catch a view of Hunza and Nagar down below along with the surrounding peaks.

1330 – 1430 hrs. (20 km, 1 hr.) Further, drive back to Karim Abad Bazar

• Lunch at a local restaurant
• See Heildekesh Rock Carvings

1630 – 1730 hrs. (1 km, 45km) Drive back to the Hotel for dinner and retire for the day

Day 3 (Atabad – Khunjrab)

0730- 1100 hrs (4.0 hrs, 200km): After breakfast, we drive to Khunjrab Pass (4695m), the pak-china border, and on the way we enjoy-

• Passu Cones View Point to see cathedral-like peaks above 7000m
• Late Lunch
• Drive to the Husseini Suspension bridge
• Stop over at the Boat ride spot at Atabad Lake

1400 -1730hrs (3.5 hrs, 200km): Drive back to the hotel for dinner and retire for the day

Day 4 (Hunza – Naltar – Chilas)

0700 hrs. Breakfast time inside the hotel and checkout from Hunza Hotel

0730 – 1130 hrs. (4.0 hrs, 150 km): Drive to Naltar Ski Slopes.

• Satrangi Lake jeep ride

1230 – 1500 (4.5 hrs. 200 km): Further drive to Hotel of Chilas

1500 hrs. Retire for the day at the hotel

Day 5 ( Chilas-Islamabad)

0700 hrs. Breakfast time inside the hotel and checkout
