justice in Islam

Emphasize Justice in Islam, Quran for Pakistan’s sake

Emphasis of Justice in Islam, Quranic teachings and Prophet Muhammad’s teachings (Sunnah) are vital for Pakistan’s survival.

This word and injustice have been mentioned 40 times in Quran, such is its importance of Justice in Islam. Tyranny and oppression are inimical to Justice in any society.

You can weigh our Islamic society or emphasis of Justice in Islam by comparing it with what quotes in Quran envisions it to be:-

“Be upholders of justice, bearing witness for Allah alone, even against yourselves or your parents and relatives (Surat an-Nisa’, 135)

“Show integrity for the sake of Allah, bearing witness with justice. Do not let hatred for a people incite you into not being just”. (Surat al-Maida, 8)

“…Be just, for it is closest to God-consciousness…” (Quran 5:8)

“Every nation has a Messenger and when their Messenger comes everything is decided between them justly” (Surah Yunus, 47)

“And O my people! Give just measure and weight, nor withhold from the people the things that are their due” (Surah Hud, 85)

“So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance.” (Surah Ar-Rahman, 9)

“Guard yourself from oppression, for oppression will be darkness on the Day of Resurrection.”: Sahih Muslim 2578, Grade: Sahih

“God does not forbid you from doing good and being just to those who have neither fought you.” (Quran 60:8)

“…When you speak, speak with justice, even if it is against someone close to you…” (Quran 6:152)

“If you fear that you cannot be just, and then marry only one…” (Quran 4:3)

“The most hated of people and the furthest removed from him (Allah) will be a tyrannical leader.”

“when you rule over [or judge between] people, that you do so with justice...” [4:58]

“And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice” 002:190-194

“(Allah will) punish you for the oaths you make intentionally Sura Al-Ma’ida:89 (5:89).

“Killing any person without a just cause (is as big a sin) as killing the whole humanity (See al-Ma’idah 5:32)

“We have placed you as a successor on the earth; so judge you between men in truth (and justice) and follow not your desire” Sura Sad (38:26)

Prophet Muhammad PBUH said, “I have forbidden oppression for myself and have made it forbidden among you, so do not oppress one another. Source: Sahih Muslim 2577, Grade: Sahih

So, Quran and Prophet Muhammad have both emphasized Justice to be the basic building block of any society, like all major world religions. Needless to say, a society cannot go far without justice. The message is that a few oligarchs’, opportunists, demagogues, crooks and tyrants cannot lord over the fate of decent, hardworking human beings. We don’t need Justice League super heros, like in the movie, to rescue us every few centuries from these cruel tyrants — justice in society is enough.

By appointing a recently retired Chief Justice India to Indian Rajya Sabha, for dishing out favorable decisions to BJP, impartiality has been lost. Justice Gogoi was a controversial CJI, unlike justice Islam, who was a lower judge. So, where is the doctrine of justice, (Islamic) equity, and good conscience in India in this case? Isn’t justice supposed to be better than worship?

Pakistan, on the other hand, was supposed to be Justice Island for the Muslim nation, I hope our leaders get this message!
