Dining at Jazeera Foods, Commercial Market, Rawalpindi
If you’re looking for a dining experience in Commercial Market, Rawalpindi, Jazeera Foods is worth considering.
Last weekend, we visited the Commercial Market for some shopping at the Levi’s outlet store. The trip was well worth it as we found several great items at excellent prices. By the time we were done, it was dinner time, and we decided to try Jazeera Foods, a restaurant highly recommended by a friend for its daal chawal.

ToggleFirst Impression of Jazeera Foods
Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by their extensive menu. It offered not just daal chawal but a variety of dishes, including Chinese cuisine, BBQ, chicken pulao, biryani, and burgers. Tempted by the options, we decided to skip the daal chawal and try something different.
What We Ordered
We ordered BBQ chicken pieces, which were flavorful and perfectly cooked. The chicken pulao, while tasty, was spicier than expected. In comparison, Savor Foods’ pulao still holds the top spot for us. To complement the meal, we added French fries from their fast-food branch, humorously named “Blaster Chicken.” The fries were crisp and enjoyable, rounding out the meal nicely.
Ambiance and Service
The ambiance of Jazeera Foods was average, with tightly packed tables and chairs offering little comfort. The service was quick and efficient, though slightly lacking in polish. For example, as we waited for our bill, the staff began cleaning our table, requiring us to remind them twice to wait until we left. Despite this minor inconvenience, the overall experience was pleasant.
Room for Improvement
One suggestion for improvement would be to include more local drink options, such as Cola Next or apple cider, promoting the idea of “Be Pakistani, Buy Pakistani.”
Takeaway Experience
We also bought their daal chawal as takeaway. While we’re not huge fans of daal, it was decent, though not exceptional.
Final Thought
If you’re in the area, Jazeera Foods is worth a visit for its diverse menu and flavorful BBQ. Just don’t expect a fine-dining experience.
